The Other Side is about what we can’t fully see, but still somehow feel. I painted it during a time of deep personal loss — slowly and quietly, without a clear plan.
It holds the feeling of a threshold — something soft, fluid, and just beyond reach.
The image reminded me of a door made of water. Not solid, but present. Something you step through more with your heart than your feet. A quiet space between here and whatever comes next.
For me, it carries the presence of my brother-in-law, John — whose loss cracked our hearts wide open, but whose light hasn’t left.
It’s a gentle imagining of where we’ll meet again — where love waits, just on the other side.
